2nd Sylhet Film Festival – Sylhet Film Festival

The second season of Sylhet Film Festival was started on 18th March, 2018 at Techer-Student Centre of Sylhet Agricultural University. The inauguration started at 11 AM. That day at evening, Akhi and her friends by Morshedul Islam was screened as opening full length film. Film screening will be held from 11am to 7pm everyday at the central auditorium of Sylhet Agricultural University. The audiences got increased than the last season and news of Sylhet Film Festival got attention of both national and international media. This time the festival received total 2808 submission in 4 categories from 122 countries. The category wised total submitted film numbers were Short Film Section(International) 2375, Short Film Section (Bangladeshi) 123, Documentary section 393, Child Film Maker’s Section 141. Bangladeshi filmmaker Ashraf Shishir, Muktadir Ibna Salam and Bangladeshi actor Manoj Kumar were jury members in 2nd season. Premendra Mazumdar remained the chief advisor of the festival. The festival ran till 21st March, 2018 evening. At the evening the festival ended with closing and Prize Giving Ceremony. Bangla Tribune, Filmfreeway, Bid To Kroy, Asian Paints, Russian center of Science & Culture, EPI NET, Nescafe & Ocean IT were partners of 2nd Sylhet Film Festival.
